Political and Economic Association Agreement between the European Union and Chile

From February to December 2003, trade between the EU and Chile has increased in 14.4%, reaching US$ 7,418, compared to the same period in 2002.

 

From February to December 2003, exports to the EU increased in 16%, reaching a total amount of US$ 4,447 millions, compared to the same period in 2002.

 

From February to December 2003, imports to the EU increased in 12%, reaching a total amount of US$ 2,971 millions, compared to the same period in 2002.

 

Presently, 85% of Chile s exports to the EU are duty-free.

 

Chile s total exports shall be duty-free from the fourth year of the Agreement. Only 0.3% of Chilean exports have not been included in the Agreement.

 

At present, 47% of Chile s agricultural product exports to the EU are duty-free.

 

Germany represents 22% of exports to the EU, reaching US$ 644 million.
