What goods are considered baggage?

  • New or used goods carried for personal use or gifts, excluding those which are for trading purposes, either because of quantity or value.
  • Used articles exclusively for professional use or sales. They must be portable objects, usually carried from one place to another by professionals and craftsmen, not including machinery, devices or other articles requiring any type of installation for use.
  • For people over the age of 18, up to an amount not exceeding 400 cigarettes, 500g of pipe tobacco, 50 cigars and 2,500 cubic centimeters of alcoholic beverages.
  • In addition, baggage covers the following items:

 

  • Used video camera and recorded tapes for family use
  • Used mobile phones
  • Used photo camera
  • Used sport gear for personal use
  • Medications for personal use in appropriate quantities according to the needs and period of visit the country
  • Used portable CD player
  • Used personal stereo
  • Used binoculars
  • New or used gifts, not exceeding USD 150.00 or its equivalent in other currencies for each traveler over the age of 15.

 

  • Handicapped or ill travelers are able to enter health or First Aid auxiliary equipment which is necessary for displacement.

 

They must be of non-commercial nature, assuming that they are commercial when the amount of articles entered to the country exceed the travelers common use and needs.

They must be carried by the traveler or enter the country within 120 days from or prior to the date of his/her arrival. Regarding the latter, goods shall be consigned to his name in the manifest and/or the corresponding shipping document.
