Customs officers with the assistance of the police found, on Tuesday night in route 68, such fake toys in a container truck (40- foot container).    The goods of Chinese origin, which were concealed in 400 cardboard boxes, infringe the Law on Intellectual Property.

The toys, coming from the Port of Shangai, were mixed with some legitimate toys and their value would reach US$ 297 thousand.

Customs reported that the amount of taxes not collected as a result of this illegal activity would have reached over US$ 77 thousand. 

Once the fake goods are found, the prosecutor s office of the Public Prosecutor s Office of Valparaíso was immediately informed and the respective formal complaint for crime of smuggling and intellectual property infringement was made.  The goods got seized.    

The brands of the seized goods are Ben 10, Pokemon, Naruto, Dragon Ball, Maple Story, Transformers, among others.  Customs contacted the brand holders who confirmed that they will be party of the formal complaint.
